ABOUT US
Potomac Artists in Touch (PAinT) is a diverse group of local artist dedicated to cultivating the visual arts in the Potomac, Maryland community. PAinT's membership includes professional artists with diverse training, styles and ethnic backgrounds, resulting in a rich breadth of artistic work. What makes PAinT special is not only the caliber and quality of the individual work of the member artists but also our passion for creating programming for the community. PAinT began with local group exhibits in 2001 and formally incorporated as a non-profit in 2004 to better serve our mission of using the visual arts for benefit and cultural enrichment of the community. PAinT's past fundraising projects have included: A 2002 Art Calendar to benefit charitable organizations such as Cure Autism Now; The 2003 St. Francis Art Show & Sale fundraiser; as well as creating Cabaret Cloths (hand painted tablecloths) for The Potomac Theatre Company in 2003. In 2004 - 2005, PAinT sponsored PONYMANIA, a public art and fundraising project undertaken in strategic partnership with The Potomac Chamber of Commerce, The Almanac and The Gazette newspapers in 2004-2005. Reflecting local equestrian traditions, and with the generous assistance of community sponsors, PAinT members (and a group of student artists) created 10 unique, life-sized Painted Pony sculptures which were placed on public display at locations throughout the greater Potomac, Maryland community from Summer through the late Fall of 2005.
