Anne Martinez, a native of Washington DC and a resident of Potomac, Maryland for more than 40 years, enjoys realistic portraiture and works in all mediums. Whether it's painting a notable persons in oil on canvas or an animal in warm pastels, Anne is at her happiest working at her craft while listening to all the animals around her on Piney Spring Farm. Her husband, Ramon, who does most of the farm work, has helped Anne in her pursuit of art by setting up the fiberglass horse for painting and making frames or wood backings for her art pieces.
Mary, an 'army brat' has lives in the USA, Japan, Hawaii, and turkey. These locales influence her composition, use of light and color. She studied at the Corcoran and GWU, where she received her BA in Geography.
Nancy's visual work, painted and photographed, explores the aesthetics, politics, ideals, and artistic processes that join the technologies of painting and photography. I paint and photograph from a multitude of conflicting, shifting and uncertain human perspectives. My series of paintings and photographs thus constitute an aesthetic inquiry into and challenge to the legitimacy and authority of the photographic and technological perspective.
Yolanda is a South African artist and art teacher who has been living in the Washington, D.C. area for the better part of a decade. She works primarily in oils and watercolor. Her technique is realistic and classical. However, her compositions frequently incorporate traditional and cultural icons within classical motifs, and her paintings, while remaining figurative and realistic, often touch upon the symbolist. Richard Bess is addicted to painting, she has other passions too; family, travel and drama. She has a MA in Art History. Her colorful paintings have stories to tell, she now focuses on plein-air paintings.
