Reflecting local equestrian traditions, and with the generous assistance of community sponsors, PAinT members (and a group of student artists) created 10 unique, life-sized Painted Pony sculptures which were placed on public display at locations throughout the greater Potomac, Maryland community from Summer through the late Fall of 2005.

Eight of the ponies were produced by PAinT member artists (or artist teams). A ninth pony (Day & Night) was created by a student team from Ivy Mount under the direction of their teacher.

The tenth pony, Potomac the Pony, was a community project with design elements culled from over 400 sumbissions received from students attending 17 local schools. Student works were separately curated into physical and online shows by a team of PAinT volunteers and literally incorporated into the final desing of Potomac by the PAinT artists coordinating production of the pony.

In November 2005, following the end of their public run the Ponies were auctioned to private bidders and the proceeds donated to several local charitable and service organizations.
